Glico (40 mg) is an oral hypoglycemic (anti-diabetic drug), prescribed for type 2 diabetes. It stimulates the pancreas, which helps in more insulin secretion.
Side effects of Glico (40 mg)
GI disturbances, skin reaction, decrease in blood cell counts, jaundice, vomiting, diarrhea and stomach inflammation.
Dosage & When it is to be taken (Indications)
PO- Initially start with 160mgs daily in two divided doses. May go up to 320 mgs daily in two divided doses.
How to use Glico (40 mg)?
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with food.
When is Glico (40 mg) not to be taken? (Contraindications)
Contraindicated in patients with diabetic-ketoacidosis, severe liver and kidney impairment, and hypersensitivity.
Warnings and Precautions for Glico (40 mg)
• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver, kidney problems, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• Monitor bloodsugar level regularly while taking this medication.
